Billy Kennedy, an assistant at Miami and former head coach, had been mentioned. He actually had a resume that was intriguing. Regardless, he took the job at Murray State.
I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that hoopmasters.com, a pay site, lists Rob Evans as having already accepted the SMU head coaching job. It may be true, but I am skeptical.
