Copeland on Verge of Retirement?

In Today's DMN, there is an article on Copeland considering retirement.

When asked if there was a chance he could leave this spring, Copeland said, "The president and I have talked about how much longer I will work."

Unlike others, I don't consider everything Copeland has done to be an abject failure. He deserves more credit for Ford Stadium than some give him. But if you ask me, the time is right for new leadership. We need somebody with a vision for how good this program should be.

Justin Willis

Was screwing around and found this old WFAA news clip of Justin Willis from before signing day 2005. Worth a look if you have not seen it. Looks increasingl likely that he is your starter in '06, though I still can't believe it.

Tom Rossley

For those that don't know, the Packers fired Mike Sherman. This probably means the whole staff is out too. And that means Packer OC and former SMU HC Tom Rossley is probably out of a job.

Others are suggesting it and I would be all for it, too. If Rossley is looking for a job in the metroplex, I would love to see him help out this offense. How about "QB Coach and Offensive Consultant"? It has a very nice ring to it to me. And I think an NFL OC on the staff benefits recruiting.
